I am no longer shocked by anything related to Mr. Bill Clinton. He has proven that nothing is beneath him. Today, the NY Times saw fit to print details of a very shady deal facilitated by Mr. Clinton. It was a three way barter between Bill Clinton, a Canadian mining financier and the President of Kazakhstan.
Here is what each gave in the deal:
President Clinton provided “enthusiastic support” for President Nursultan A. Nazarbayev’s bid to head an international organization that monitors elections and supports democracy. The Times says of this support that “Mr. Clinton’s public declaration undercut both American foreign policy and sharp criticism of Kazakhstan’s poor human rights record by, among others, Mr. Clinton’s wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.”
President Nazarbayev granted Mr. Frank Giustra’s (the Canadian mining financier) company, agreements “giving it the right to buy into three uranium projects controlled by Kazakhstan’s state-owned uranium agency…The monster deal stunned the mining industry, turning an unknown shell company into one of the world’s largest uranium producers in a transaction ultimately worth tens of millions of dollars to Mr. Giustra, analysts said.
Mr. Giustra gave the William J. Clinton Foundation a $31.3 million donation. He also recently pledged another $100 million to said foundation.
Soldier on, Slick.
